The murals on the external wall of the building portray the impression of Tai Kok Tsui from the perspective of the owner of Chevalier Industrial Building. These paintings reflect the history of Tai Kok Tsui: the painting that faces Fuk Tsun Street reflects how the area once prospered as a hub of hardware stores, while its gradual shift into a residential area is seen in the painting facing Beech Street. 

Many streets in Tai Kok Tsui are named after trees. The artists’ choice of seven streets named after trees, stretched between Chevalier building and the site of “Re: Tai Kok Tsui”, completes the metaphor that members of the community are chatting under the canopies of the trees, sharing their daily experiences. Their stories are categorized under seven streets: Elm Street, Beech Street, Pine Street, Tit Shu Street, Oak Street, Ash Street, and Palm Street. There are two metal sculptures of trees: the gold tree corresponds to the tree in Hung Shing Temple, while the silver tree is the “tree of memory”.
